The Acts of Blood demo story mission follows Hendra as he sets out to confront Jagal, one of the men responsible for his family’s murder. The journey begins in Hendra’s apartment, takes him through the streets of Bandapa on a motorcycle, and ends with a bloody showdown inside an illegal factory.
It’s a short, fairly linear experience, but there’s more to it than a string of fights. The opening cinematic, apartment customization, motorcycle sequence, and soundtrack all help establish the mood of this Indonesian revenge thriller.
This walkthrough follows the demo’s main story sequence, with a few observations about its presentation and gameplay. We’ll keep major story revelations to a minimum.
Minor spoilers ahead for the demo’s locations and encounters.
1. Opening Cinematic: Hendra’s Road to Revenge
Acts of Blood opens with a cinematic introduction that establishes its dark, revenge-driven tone.
The opening narration provides the context for Hendra’s mission. His family has been murdered, and rather than finding justice through the legal system, he has decided to pursue those responsible himself.
The demo doesn’t spend long explaining the larger conspiracy. Instead, it gives Hendra an immediate target: Jagal, a man connected to the killings.
This approach works well for a short playable preview. You understand why Hendra is fighting before you’ve even thrown your first punch, while the bigger questions about his family and the people behind the murders remain unanswered.
For a closer look at Hendra’s background and the wider conspiracy, read our Acts of Blood Story Guide.
2. Hendra’s Apartment: Getting Ready
After the introduction, you find yourself in Hendra’s apartment.
The apartment serves as a small hub where you can explore, get familiar with basic interactions, and prepare before heading into the story mission.
One of its most interesting features is the wardrobe.
How outfit customization works
Interact with the wardrobe to open the outfit selection menu. Rather than choosing a completely different playable character, you’re customizing Hendra’s appearance.
The outfit system lets you mix clothing pieces across different categories, including:
- Headwear
- Tops and outerwear
- Gloves and other accessories
- Pants
- Footwear
The exact selection is limited in the demo, but there’s enough variety to create different looks, from casual streetwear to more aggressive, tactical-looking outfits.
The Steam listing presents these outfits as visual customization rather than equipment with confirmed combat stat bonuses.
One particularly interesting addition is the collaboration with Machine56, a streetwear brand from Bandung, Indonesia.
The collaboration brought the MS-Bomber D1 jacket and Runner_01BK pants into the demo, giving players access to clothing based on real-world designs.
It’s a small feature, but it suits Acts of Blood surprisingly well. Hendra is presented less like a traditional superhero and more like someone who could exist in the game’s modern urban setting. Being able to choose what he wears makes that identity feel a little more personal.
The developers have continued improving the wardrobe system through demo updates, including fixes to clothing materials and how outfits are equipped.
Once you’re ready, select the story mission and head toward the factory.
3. The Motorcycle Ride to the Factory
Before the fighting begins, Hendra travels toward his destination on a motorcycle.
This is a cinematic sequence rather than a free-roaming motorcycle section. You aren’t exploring an open-world city or choosing your own route.
Instead, the ride serves as a transition from the relative calm of the apartment to the violence waiting at the factory.
It’s also one of the demo’s more memorable stylistic touches.
Watching Hendra ride through Bandapa gives the game a sense of place that would be harder to establish if it simply loaded players into the first fight. The city feels like part of the story, even though you don’t get to explore it freely.
There’s something appealing about the sequence’s restraint. For a moment, Hendra isn’t fighting anyone. He’s simply on his way to do something terrible, and the game lets that anticipation build.
The motorcycle sequence also has the feel of an action film’s opening credits, setting the tone before the next scene begins.
4. Factory Mission: Fighting Your Way to Jagal
The factory is the main playable location in the demo’s story mode.
Hendra’s objective is straightforward: infiltrate the illegal operation and reach Jagal.
The route takes you through outdoor industrial areas, enclosed workspaces, and sections occupied by hostile guards.
The first encounters
Early fights introduce the game’s third-person brawling system.
Most enemies initially rely on close-range attacks, giving you room to learn the basic rhythm of punching, kicking, defending, and countering. Our Combat & Combo System guide explains those systems in more detail.
Acts of Blood puts considerable emphasis on the physical impact of combat. Enemies react to strikes, attacks flow into brutal finishing animations, and fights can become messy when several opponents close in at once.
The violence is deliberately exaggerated, with blood effects and cinematic takedowns playing a major role in the presentation.
Moving deeper into the factory
As you advance, the mission becomes more demanding.
The factory isn’t a completely open environment. Progress largely follows a set route, with occasional obstacles, doors, and climbing sections breaking up the fighting.
Some areas contain weapons you can use against enemies, while later encounters introduce armed opponents. These sections change the pace, since Hendra can’t always rely on standing close to enemies and exchanging punches. See the Acts of Blood Weapons Guide for the demo’s melee weapons, firearms, and durability systems.
The factory also provides glimpses of the criminal operation Hendra has entered, including its workers, guards, and heavily controlled industrial spaces.
One notable sequence involves an announcement directing workers away from danger as the situation escalates.
The mission moves quickly between these moments. There’s some traversal and environmental interaction, but combat remains the main attraction.
For players who enjoy cinematic brawlers, the factory is a decent introduction to the game’s style. Its main limitation is that the route remains fairly linear, and repeated groups of enemies can start to feel similar.
5. Jagal Boss Fight: The Final Confrontation
The factory mission culminates in a confrontation with Jagal, Hendra’s target.
Unlike the ordinary guards encountered earlier, Jagal is a dedicated boss with a much more threatening presence. His chainsaw makes the encounter particularly dangerous.
The fight is a noticeable change of pace from clearing groups of weaker enemies. Reckless attacks become far more costly, and avoiding his heavier strikes matters more than maintaining a long combination.
It also brings the demo back to its central premise. Hendra didn’t come to the factory simply to defeat a room full of guards. He came looking for one of the men involved in his family’s murder.
The confrontation gives this short mission a proper climax while leaving the larger revenge story open for the full game.
For a detailed breakdown of Jagal’s attacks, boss mechanics, and how to defeat him, see our Jagal Boss Fight Guide.
Music, Sound, and Atmosphere
One of the more appealing aspects of the Acts of Blood demo is how its sound contributes to the action-movie atmosphere.
The soundtrack gives the action a sense of momentum, particularly when the game transitions from quieter moments into combat. The motorcycle sequence is a good example of how the presentation can make a straightforward transition feel more cinematic.
During fights, the music works alongside the heavier sound effects rather than carrying the experience on its own. Punches, kicks, enemy reactions, and finishing moves all contribute to the violence on screen.
Eksil Team has paid attention to this side of the game throughout development. Earlier demo updates improved the layered music transitions, while later patches refined the balance of combat effects, footsteps, and other environmental sounds.
The April 2026 update also made further improvements to fighting sound effects.
Not every part of the audio presentation is equally distinctive, but the combination of music, impact sounds, and cinematic animation helps give Acts of Blood its identity.
The soundtrack is most effective when the game allows its quieter moments to contrast with the chaos of a fight.
How Does the Demo Story Feel?
Acts of Blood wears its martial-arts film influences openly. Its third-person combat, crowded encounters, and brutal finishers are clearly built to evoke the spectacle of modern action cinema.
The factory mission succeeds most when those elements come together: a tense approach, a room full of enemies, a series of satisfying takedowns, and a boss waiting at the end.
The apartment and motorcycle sections also help. Neither adds much mechanical complexity, but both give the mission a sense of progression beyond simply moving from one fight to another.
There are rough edges. The factory’s level design is relatively straightforward, and fighting through repeated groups can feel repetitive. Some combat animations and enemy reactions have also required considerable refinement across demo updates.
Still, the appeal is easy to understand. Acts of Blood is trying to make players feel like the protagonist of a violent Indonesian action film, and the demo offers a promising glimpse of that ambition.
Its story isn’t especially complex at this stage, nor does it need to be. The immediate goal is simple: find Jagal and make him pay. What matters is whether the journey toward that confrontation is enjoyable.
What Happens After the Story Mission?
The factory mission is the demo’s standalone story experience. Completing it doesn’t unlock the rest of Hendra’s revenge campaign.
You can continue playing the demo’s Arena Mode, which focuses on waves of enemies and high-score challenges rather than additional story chapters.
You can also revisit the apartment, change outfits, and experiment with the demo’s available progression systems.
For now, the factory confrontation is only a small part of the revenge story planned for the full release.
